This is a great opportunity for a flexible and customer-focused Specimen Collector to become a integral part of our growing national company specialising in the provision of health and safety services where all profits go to medical research.  


People from all walks of life have become part of our successful national Casual Specimen Collectors team.  People including mature aged, retirees or those returning to the workforce have become successful Casual Specimen Collectors for our growing national team.  They benefit from and enjoy the flexibility of working on a casual on-call basis 7 days per week (including some out of business hours work).  


Reporting to the State Service Coordinator, you will receive individual attention and support to ensure your success in this role.  You will work with the existing team in all aspects of liaising with customers and providing customer service. 


Training in conducting on-site testing and collections will be provided, however experience in handling biological samples would be highly regarded. You must enjoy working autonomously and possess a mobile telephone, computer, internet access, current drivers licence and reliable vehicle. Your well developed interpersonal and organisational skills and "can do" attitude will ensure your success in this role.


The successful applicant will be involved in:

  • Training to acquire an VQF Workplace Drug Testing Certification
  • Performing workplace drug and alcohol testing for our clients
  • Specimen collection services
  • Travelling to/from our client sites located within or near Kalgoorlie

In order to be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:   

  • Display exceptional personal presentation
  • Be confident and enjoy customer service
  • Display an excellent eye for detail
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have strong time-management skills and be able to work autonomously
  • Be available to work on an as-needs casual on-call basis 7 days per week  
  • Have access to a reliable transport and have a current Driver's Licence
  • Have access to the internet and mobile phone 
  • The ability to complete documentation (computerised and by hand)
  • Be computer literate in Word and Outlook (introductory level)
  • Willing to work with and handle biological specimens
  • Be willing to collect specimens and perform onsite testing (from urine or saliva specimens)
  • Ensure the timely transport of samples after collection


Ideally, you will have worked in a similar role or in a hospital, laboratory department involved in handling biological specimens.
